Volunteer at the Festival for free entry into the Holiday Ball!

HELP NEEDED JUNE 27, 28, 29 & JULY 3, 4, 5 SEE BELOW!

These events would not be possible without the many hours that local dancers donate as volunteers. Whether you can spare just an hour or two, or want to work more hours in return for FREE or discounted admission to the event, we would be grateful for your help.

Examples of volunteer opportunities for 2009:

Postering neighborhoods (before weekendsl)
Registration prep (a week before weekendsl)
Ballroom decoration setup (afternoons at Festival before 6pm)
Registration desk (greet people for an hour or two)
Contest signups (assist in making the contests go fast)
Door monitors/greeters (help folks get in correct level/room & check name badges/wriste bands)
Floaters (for odd jobs at the events)
Dance hosts willing to house teachers and special guests!

Help out for Pride Swing Block!
We will give free group classes or private lessons to volunteers who do 2 shifts:

Help us afford the Swing Block at Pride. Volunteer for Pride in their Community Partnership program under our name; partial proceeds go to the Swing Block costs!

Last minute volunteering needed for dance floors 2 weekends in a row (about 15 to 30 minutes of work):

Friday night, June 26 lay floor at Grove between Larkin & Hyde (near library).
Sunday night, June 28 after 5:30pm break down floor.

and for Lindypendance weekend and Fillmore Jazz Festival Swing Block floor laying on Geary Bridge at Fillmore:
Friday night, July 3rd lay floor in Fillmore.
Sunday night, July 5th after 5:45pm break down floor in Fillmore!

Entrance donation bucket collection:
1st shift 10am-12:30pm, 2nd shift 12:30-3pm, and/or 3rd shift 3-6pm
and/or
Bucket prep: 12 noon to 3pm.
and/or
2 Supervisors 9am-1:30pm or 1-6pm

and/or

Sunday, June 28 volunteer shifts:

March in Pride Parade 9:45-11:45am (mandatory meeting June 17 Center 7-9pm)
and/or
Gate set up: 7-10am
and/or
Donation bucket:
1st shift 10am-12:30pm, 2nd shift 12:30-3pm, and/or 3rd shift 3-6pm
and/or
2 Supervisors 9am-1:30pm or 1-6pm.

Pride says: Please be advised that you must "show on time" and must "remain for full shift until dismissed by a zone coordinator... Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of volunteer hours..." and Pride will not provide donations to Swing Block!
